Rajiv Kumar is an economist and author who was till now the Vice Chairman of the Niti Ayog, the key think-tank for the Government of India. He has served as Chief Economist at CII and as Secretary General of FICCI, the two apex business associations. He has also been an independent director on the Central Boards of the Reserve Bank of India and the State Bank of India.
He has been a professor in Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, a Senior Consultant, Bureau of Costs and Prices at the Ministry of Industry, Government of India and the Economic Advisor in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, from 1992 to 1995.
In 1995, he joined the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines as a Principal Economist, where he served until 2005.
His books include: Modi and His Challenges and Exploding Aspirations: Unlocking India's Future.
