Sharda Narayanan

Introduction

Sharda Narayanan is a Sanskrit scholar and author. She completed Master's Degrees in Physics and then Sanskrit from Bangalore University and went on to receive PhD in Sanskrit Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. With a long-standing interest in English Literature and Sanskrit Theatre, she currently teaches Indian Aesthetics in the Department of Natya, Dr. MGR Janaki College, Chennai. With several published papers and seminar presentations to her credit, she has presented papers at World Sanskrit Conference in Edinburgh, Bangkok and Vancouver and also presented "Gitagovinda of Jayadeva" through multimedia at The Hindu LitFest in Chennai. Her published books are - "Vakyapadiya: Sphota, Jati & Dravya", "Sastradipika", "Gitagovinda of Jayadeva" and "Tirumurai: Glimpses into Tamil Saiva Poetry".
