Introduction

Amita Nigam Sahaya is a writer; translator; social entrepreneur, gender activist and editor. 

Author of: The Shaadi Story, Behind the Scenes of the Big, Fat, Indian Wedding Publishers: Pan Macmillian.

The Rani of Jhansi, Lakshimibai, author Vrindavanlal Varma, translated from Hindi to English first published by Ocean Books. 

Writer / Editor - five books / anthologies on gender issues.  

She is the Founder-Secretary of the not-for-profit organisation, Women Work & Health Initiative (WWHI). 

Co-Coordinator of the not-for-profit The Society for Working Life. She has established two Community Education & Development Centres in the unauthorized colonies of Delhi. Co-Founder: Sweden India Gender Network (SIGN) for developing gender research between universities and NGOs of the two countries.
