Her books -- Jamini Roy’s Unbroken Lines, Ammu and the Sparrows, Sera Learns to Fly -- have all won awards. This year her book The Girl Who Wouldn’t Stay Within the Lines has been shortlisted for the National Jarul Book Awards.

An editor and author with over 25 years of experience, Vinitha has worked with the media as a journalist for many years, eventually moving to working with the book publishing industry. In 2020 she won a scholarship at Hedgebrooke’s Writers in Residence Program that supports fully-funded residencies for selected women-identified writers. Her first not-for-children book, a food memoir, will be out early next year.
