About

Tajender Singh Luthra

Introduction

Tajender Singh Luthra TJ @LuthraTj is a poet of Hindi and a translator for English. He is a spontaneous poet. Most of his stimuli come from his unconscious mind. Thus, he doesn't compose poems around a particular theme either. His poems hover around struggles of a common man, his deep philosophical worldview and feelings of love from various perspectives.

At the process level, he loves self-examination to create poetry. And here, he doesn't become a fence sitter, place others at the center, and comment from the ringside. Instead, he loves to be the center and allow others to watch his vulnerability. Consequently, he feels the contradictions between his  personal values and his private life. These dilemmas sometimes brew a heady poem, and other times, they heals the wounds inflicted by his inherent contradictions.

His first poetry collection - ‘Assi Ghat Ka Bansuri Wala’ - in the Hindi language was published in 2012, and the second one - 'Ek Naya Ishwar' has just been released. His poems have been accepted and published in influential American Literary Journals -  New York Quarterly, Lammergeier, New Plains Review, Voices, Meniscus and Wingless Dreamer.

Tajender Singh Luthra (TJ) lives in New Delhi, India, where he is a senior police officer and works for the Delhi Police, the largest metropolitan police in the world. He has been working for women's protection, children's rights, and access to justice. He was awarded Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. He is also a Positive Psychology expert with a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania.
