Amit Pratap Singh

Introduction

Mr. Amit Pratap Singh, is an Assistant Professor in Business Laws at National Law Institute University, Bhopal (India). Mr. Amit joined NLIU, Bhopal in the year 2019. He has also been an Assistant Professor in Business Law with Amity Law School, Delhi affiliated to GGIPU, New Delhi, and taught competition and investment law along with other subjects. He has also worked at the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (the Regulator). There he was instrumental in many policy research in corporate insolvency resolution and liquidation regulations.

Mr. Amit graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Allahabad. Thereafter, he pursued LL.M. in Access to Justice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. He has been awarded the best research and dissertation award at TISS, Mumbai.

Mr. Amit started his career as an Access to Justice Fellow with the Department of Justice, Government of India - Tata Institute of Social Sciences Fellowship; and developed and implemented projects for TISS, Mumbai.

Mr. Amit introduced and coordinated an academic program – Graduate Insolvency Programme at NLIU, Bhopal ( a collaborative programme of IBBI and NLIU, Bhopal). He is also instrumental in implementing ‘e-Nyayaganga’ Project- a digital legal literacy project funded by the Department of Justice, Government of India.

He has drafted many legislations for the State of Madhya Pradesh including the Right to Health Bill, 2019, and the Clinical Establishment Regulation Bill, 2020.  

He holds teaching and research experience of seven years and has taught various courses like Law of Regulatory Institutions, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law, Civil Procedure Code, Corporate Law. His teaching involves both UG and PG levels. He started the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Law Course for Masters and Under-Graduate Programme at NLIU-Bhopal.

Mr. Amit is the Public Information Officer at NLIU, Bhopal under the Right to Insolvency Act, 2005. He is also the Editor of the NLIU Journal for Legislative Drafting and Parliamentary Research (JLDPR).
