Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma

Introduction

Partha Sarthi Sen sharma is an author and an Indian civil servant. As a career bureaucrat he joined the Indian Administrative service in 1994 after having done his engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering ( now Delhi Technical University) and after having worked for the Tata Motors for 3 years at Jamshedpur. Being in the Uttar Pradesh Cadre of the IAS, he has had many experiences at various places and postings in the state government as well as in the Government of India. 
As an author, Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma started contributing individual travel pieces to many publications like the times of India, The Hindustan Times, Pioneer etc. long ago but his first full length Travelogue book came out in 2011 as ‘A passage across Europe’ which has since been translated into Hindi aa ‘Musafir hun Yaaro’.  His first novel was ‘Love side by side’ that was set in the cities of Delhi and Jamshedpur and was a love story with many sub plots. This novel was soon translated as ‘ Hum hai rahi pyaar ke’. After that he once again wrote a travelogue, this time based on Britain, Turkey, Morocco and Continental Europe called ‘ Every mile a memory’ which was published on 2016 and has been translated into Hindi as ‘ ek kadam hazaar afsaane ’. He has lived in Lucknow for many years and his subsequent novel, published in 2018, ‘Lucknow Diaries : of love and longing’ was a story of three friends and their loves and lives, set in the backdrop of the city. Once again the book was translated into Hindi and was named ‘love in Lucknow’.  Partha’s latest book is based on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and is called ‘Andamanush Nicobarese’. He calls it a ‘Travenovel’ as a combination of a travelogue and a novel and was published in late 2022. Apart from writing and working as a bureaucrat he is an avid reader, an enthusiastic sports person and a family man.


The Society for Culture & Environment will hold the fourth edition of 'Heartland Stories — Bhopal Literature and Art Festival 2022 as a physical cum virtual event, between 25-27th March 2022.
