Pawan Srivastava is an IPS officer and is currently the ADG CID, MP Police Bhopal He was born in Deoria in eastern UP on the 28th of Dec 1965. He spent his childhood in Barauni, Durgapur and Nangal learning Bengali and Punjabi as third language in the school. He completed his undergraduate and post graduate studies at Allahabad University. He then attended the Jawahar Lal Nehru University where he pursued M.Phil in Oceanography in the School of Environmental Sciences. Subsequently he joined the Indian Police Service in the year 1992 and was borne on the Madhya Pradesh cadre.
He has served as Superintendent of Police in Jhabua, Narsinghpur, Guna and Bhopal districts. He has also commanded the 1st, 7th and 15th Battalions of the Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Forces. As DIG he was on deputation to the Madhya Pradesh Department of Culture as Head of the Department as Director Culture. He was single handedly responsible for organising the 1st International Ramayan Mela simultaneously at Bhopal, Ujjain and Gwalior. Due to his professional competence, capability and interest in the working in the field of crime and terrorist activities he was handpicked to create and lead the Anti Terrorist Squad in the Madhya Pradesh in 2008. He has also served as DIG Indore Range and IG at RAPTC Indore, Rewa Zone and SAF Indore Zone.
On promotion as Additional DG he joined the BPR&D and was posted as Director of CAPT in 2017. His professionalism, excellent communication skill, meaningful training, deep knowledge of Policing and a passion for continuous learning enabled the CAPT to achieve new heights in the field of training. His flexibility, creativity and scientific vision enabled him to develop a mobile app for crime scene photography and videography. He developed SOP for crime scene photography and videography. He is an avid photographer, pursues aero modeling, is an origami enthusiast, has interest in ornithology, uses his spare time in creating something by computer coding, is an ace swimmer and has captained theMP Police Tennis team.
Decorations/Medals: He is recipient of the Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Presidents Police Medal for Meritorious Service, United Nations Mission in Kosovo peace keeping medal. He is also the recipient of the Chief Ministers Pistol for excellent work in eradication of dacoity. He is also conferred with the prestigious Home Minister’s Medal for his contribution in the field of Police Training for the year 2019-20.
