Rishika Nema

Introduction

Rishika Nema graduated with a specialization in Textile Design from NIFT in 2019. Since her second year in 2016, She has been on a freelancing journey with diverse organizations, gaining valuable insights and experiences. Her roles have ranged from graphic designer to co-researcher and crafts designer.

A significant milestone in her career voyage was the completion of her Graduation project on cluster development, sponsored by DC(H), Ministry of Textiles. This project earned the Best Graduation Project award, igniting a passion for exploration in various crafts.

Venturing into the realms of weaving in Chanderi and Maheshwar, block printing, dyeing with natural colors, embroidery, zardozi, terracotta, and bamboo, She has woven a diverse tapestry of creative experiences. An empanelled designer with DC(H), Ministry of Textiles, She has contributed by designing learning modules for weaving, terracotta, and zardozi, fostering the skill development of artisans.

Working with crafts is more than a profession for her; it's a heartfelt passion that propels her explorations. When not immersed in the work, you'll find her delving into the rich history of crafts and the ever-evolving landscape of fashion. She believes this journey is not just about creating; it's about unraveling the stories behind the stitches and the threads that weave our cultural tapestry.
