Nidhi Sharma is a senior journalist, author and political analyst working with the political bureau of The Economic Times. She has authored the book “She, The Leader: Women in Indian Politics”, which profiles 17 trailblazing Indian women politicians who have fought social inequalities and patriarchal attitudes and created their own brand of politics. Nidhi Sharma has twenty-five years of experience covering politics and governance in New Delhi for leading newspapers such as The Pioneer, The Times of India and The Asian Age. She hosts The Economic Times’ podcast The Morning Brief. More recently she covered the 2024 parliamentary elections and hosted the special podcast series “Polls On My Pod”. She has been a World Press Institute fellow and covered the US presidential election in 2008 and has travelled extensively across India covering major political developments and state and parliamentary elections. She lives in New Delhi with her family.
