Deepak Tiwari is a senior Indian journalist and former Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal. With over 31 years of experience as reporter, sub-editor, television commentator, media consultant and managing editor of a media start-up, he is also author of two books on political history of central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
Deepak has worked with India’s leading news magazine The Week, news agency Press Trust of India, government broadcaster All India Radio and regional newspapers Free Press and Central Chronicle. He had also been associated with UNICEF, DFID and European Commission in capacity as a media consultant.
As a reporter, Deepak has uncovered several stories from rural India on various topics related to human rights, women atrocities and education. He has received several journalism awards. Last year, he founded a digital media startup named JoshHosh Media where he was working as Managing Editor before becoming Editor of Hindi edition of Global Investigative Journalism Network.
