Malathi Ramachandran is the author of five novels of historical fiction. She is a masters in mass communications, whose foray into historical fiction began when her passion for history and travel took her to different parts of the country. She often discovered stories from India’s rich and colourful past waiting to betold. Her novels take us centuries back to recreate these stories of people, their relationships, their troubles and triumphs, against actual historical events.
Malathi’s published books are Mandu, The Legend of Kuldhara, Begum Hazrat Mahal, The Wheel Turned and Edge of all the light. Mandu received the Coimbatore Literary Award for best Historical Fiction. Her short stories have also received British Council and other awards. Malathi is presently working on her sixth novel.
