About
Born on 9 November 1955, he is the son of renowned poet Dushyant Kumar and Rajeshwari Tyagi. He holds an M.A. in Hindi and a postgraduate diploma in English Journalism. He joined the State Bank Group as a Probationary Officer and, after a distinguished 35-year career, retired in 2015 as Assistant General Manager. He also served for four years as editor of the State Bank of India’s corporate magazine Colleague.
A poet in his own right, his ghazals have been published in several journals and anthologies, and he has authored a ghazal collection titled Samtal Koi Zameen Nahin. His creative work has been broadcast for decades on All India Radio and Doordarshan, where he presented over 100 programmes and wrote scripts for telefilms and documentaries. He has also represented Madhya Pradesh in football (Subroto Mukerjee Cup) and the NCC Republic Day Parade.
