A Law graduate, member of the 'Core Advisory Group on Criminal Justice System Reforms' of National Human Rights Commission. Is on various academic boards. Recipient of President’s Medal for Distinguished Services & Police Medal for Meritorious Services. Authored three books, ‘Leaves of Life’, ‘Inspector Chougule’, ‘Madam Commissioner’, conducted research on ‘Gender in Maharashtra Police’. Writes extensively.
