Introduction

Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar 1981 batch of Indian Police Service.  Was Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development & National Crimes Records Bureau. Was chief of Maharashtra Prisons, Commissioner of Police Pune, DIG CBI, SP Aurangabad & Satara districts. Zonal DCP  and Chief of Crime Branch, Mumbai.  Doctorate in 'Organizational Management’, Hubert Humphrey Fellow, University of Minnesota USA. Executive Development program, University of New England Australia.  A Law graduate, member of the 'Core Advisory Group on Criminal Justice System Reforms' of National Human Rights Commission. Is on various academic boards. Recipient of President’s Medal for Distinguished Services & Police Medal for Meritorious Services.  Authored three books, ‘Leaves of Life’, ‘Inspector Chougule’, ‘Madam Commissioner’, conducted research on ‘Gender in Maharashtra Police’. Writes extensively.
