Abhilash Khandekar is a veteran journalist of a standing of over 42 years in Print & Electronic media. He wears many hats.
Born in Mumbai, he began his professional career as a sports journalist with Free Press Journal ( FPJ) in early eighties. He later shifted to political journalism and joined the Hindustan Times as its head at Bhopal and then went on to become Editor of Dainik Bhaskar and its State Editorial Head in Madhya Pradesh and in Maharashtra.
Widely traveled in India and abroad, Khandekar has authored two books on politics and history and three on birds, latest being Birds of Bhopal.
He dabbles in environment in a big way and has been nominated by GoMP and GoI on several committees. He co-founded The Nature Volunteers (TNV) at Indore in 1992.
Khandekar was elected unopposed the President of the Indore-based MP Cricket Association in 2019.
He had anchored a popular weekly environment programme on Lok Sabha TV in Hindi by the name Astitva.
