Dr Neelkamal Kapoor worked at AIIMS Bhopal as Dean research and head of the Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine. Besides medicine she is intensely connected with literature, art and culture. Herself a prolific writer she writes both in Hindi and English. She has authored and published books on parenting, books on Pathology and a collection of stories titled "चुस्कियाँ - कहानियों की" in Hindi besides publishing numerous articles on various social issues and healthcare. Three of her stories have been made into films by simple idea production (UK) and have won awards in various film festivals. She is a recipient of WHO and Rotary fellowships, Sushma Tewari and Tulsi Sahitya Samman besides numerous other honours.
