Lieutenant General Milan Naidu is an alumni of St Joseph Bhopal. He was commissioned in 1967 through the National Defence Academy in the Rajput Regiment.
In a career spanning 41 years, he commanded his Battalion in Sri Lanka during Operation Pawan, where he was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal. He went on to command a Brigade in the Deserts, the Red Eagle Division in the Plains, the Corps in Ladakh and the Army Training Command.
The General has varied experience while in service. He attended the prestigious Staff College in Canada and the Higher Command Course. He was an Instructor in the Infantry School and Indian Military Academy. He was also the Commandant of the Army War College. He tenated several important Staff assignments.
Finally, he was appointed as the Vice Chief of Army Staff.
On retirement he was appointed as a member of the Armed Forces Tribunal.
Settled in Bhopal, General Naidu authored a book - "Nizaam-i-Bhopal; A Historical Perspective of Militaries of Bhopal State." The book has been translated into Hindi by Colonel Girijesh Saxena.
Presently, he is researching on Italian Prisoners of War and their Camps in Bhopal State.
