Vivek Johri is from the Indian Police Service 1984 and retired as DGP of MP. He is also ex-DG BSF and ex- National Security advisor to the Government of Mauritius.

He worked for long years as an intelligence officer also and have expertise in the domain of counter-terrorism and other bilateral and multi-lateral security related issues concerning India and its neighbours particularly Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

He also have deep understanding of India's border related security issues and bilateral concerns with India’s neighbouring countries on both land and maritime borders including in the Indian ocean region.
