About
Prof. Biswas is known as an institution builder having 42 years’ experience in academics. Before joining Jagran Lakecity University, JLU, Bhopal, as ice Chancellor, he was a founding faculty member of Indian Institute of Forest Management, IIFM, Bhopal, an autonomous institution of the Government of India, (incubated & mentored y IIM, Ahmedabad) where he served for 30 years. He has been the Director of two national-level business schools, namely Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi, and Institute for Financial Management & Research, Chennai. He set up a new campus of IFMR Business School at Sricity. He is the Founding Vice Chancellor of Skyline University, Nigeria. He was also Dean at IMT Ghaziabad, a premier business school of the country.
Prof Biswas has led several institutions for national and international accreditation, like AACSB, SAQS & NBA. He is well-versed with regulatory institutions, having worked with both government & private sector institutions. To his credit, Prof Biswas has 55+ research projects, 52 research papers, and 6 books. He had consulting assignments with the World Bank, ADB, JICA, SIDA, UN agencies & several other international agencies and both the Government of India and State Governments. His research focus areas are: public policy, rural finance, corporate social responsibility & sustainability, ESG, social entrepreneurship, micro finance and livelihoods, development management, civil society & NGO management, and participatory management.
He holds Master’s Degree in Sociology (JNU, Delhi) & Ph. D in Sociology (Utkal University)
